I’m doing an information security seminar for the Cincinnati BBB on April 26, 2011

April 5, 2011

Every day there are new stories about companies whose databases have been breached and their web sites hacked, as well and businesses that have been defrauded by hackers and/or lost sensitive customer information. And in today’s information age, businesses of all sizes increasingly collect data about their customers, partners and vendors, making them a soft, ripe target for hackers, thieves and corporate spies. From SQL injection attacks that make your web site serve up viruses to your visitors, phishing e-mails that seek to capture account and password information, ransomware that locks your data and seeks to extract a ransom for access, and hackers attempting to breach your systems, you and your business are under constant attack.

Dave Hatter is founder of Libertas Technologies, LLC a software development and business process improvement company, and as a small business owner, he faces the same challenges that you do. Dave has nearly 20 year’s experience building secure business software solutions for nearly 100 clients and holds a Security+ certification from CompTIA as well as several other certifications and a degree in Information Systems from NKU. He will help you understand the myriad risks to you and your business, as well as to your customers in simple business language.

• Email / IM Security / Web Security
• Phishing

Unfortunately, this type of SQL Injection attack is common because many web sites still allow SQL Injection. If you have a web site, you should check it to ensure that it is not infecting your visitors. Also, web sites can be hardened against this type of attack. Let me know if you have questions, we can help!
