The article linked above illustrates how social media tools are redefining the news business because they provide new conduits to deliver information to instantaneously and without the need for it to reported, edited and vetted (some might say spun) through normal media channels.
These new methods for communicating and collaborating with people can also be used by businesses to connect with their customers, partners and vendors and it’s effective, fast and free! The number of people using tools like Twitter is growing daily, and savvy businesses are learning to use Twitter and other social media like Facebook and LinkedIn to deliver valuable information (maybe just a wee bit of marketing) using the methods of their customers, partners and vendors own choosing!
