This important article from ZDNet illustrates two things:
- Hackers and identity thieves are not only very creative, they are ALWAYS on the hunt for your personal information. They continuously scheme and dream new ways to get your information and you must remain viligant and sceptical!
- LinkedIn’s popularity is such that hackers have taken notice are now using it and other social media using it to target a large numbers of users (30MM+).
I hate to hear this kind of thing because I love LinkedIn, it’s an incredibly powerful tool. I don’t want to see their reputation sullied nor do want people to be concerned about using LinkedIn.
Please read this article and spread the word to your friends and contacts so that they will be protected and we can help protect the reputation and usefulness of LinkedIn!
